They say the third time’s the charm! And what a charming time I’ve had getting my third novel, Love and Paklava, into the world.
This book is my love letter to both my hometown of Fresno and my current home in the Bay Area. I’m a Californian for life, and I’m so grateful to share my experiences from the Central Valley to Silicon Valley.
Thank you to everyone who has preordered and shown their support for this release. If you’re a fan of sexy wagers, bitchy badass women, and Armenian bakers who know how to use their hands, Love and Paklava is for you 😈

What Readers Are Saying
“I love-loved this book! The writing was so fun, and I had so many highlights and chortling moments. The humor is like dad jokes for sluts.”
“This was such a fun little romcom, with a fantastic set up. Dating to see whose city is better, where sex is the grand prize? So cute. Loved the spice, and Alyssa always delivers with a good pun at the wrong/right time.”
“This book is fresh and contemporary. This romance story has angst, personal growth, steamy sex and banter, along with very entertaining secondary characters. This book’s setting was also interesting on other levels, including information about lifestyles of modern influencers, Armenian American culture and California communities. Original and entertaining!”
Don’t Miss My Summer Book Tour!
This week is the last of my summer book tour, so if you’re in the Central Valley or SoCal, listen up!
Tonight, I’ll be hosting a free romance book reception at Judging By the Cover Bookstore in Fresno, CA, from 6-8 p.m. with my conversation partner and author bestie, Kel Bruem. We’ll be doing a reading, Q&A, and signing—and, of course, there will be paklava!
Then this weekend (June 20-21) I’ll be in Burbank, CA, for Love & Devotion, a romance book convention featuring 100+ authors and narrators. There will be panels, parties, and fun galore!
I will be signing on Saturday afternoon from 2:30-5:30 p.m., so drop by to get your Glam Fam books and enter for a chance to win some exclusive prizes.
It’s going to be a whirlwind week, and I’m so excited to celebrate with you all!

Reading 📖

Take a Hike by Mimi Grace
I love reading outdoor & adventure romances—so much so that I created a list last year of the ones I either recommend or were on my radar.
Take a Hike by Mimi Grace has everything I’m looking for in a love story: a big city girl trying to prove herself, a stoic man who learns not to underestimate her, and a found family you root for. And who can resist a love interest who teaches archery at an adventure park? Highly recommend this delightful read.
Watching 📺

Class Action Park on HBO Max
Speaking of outdoor adventure, I never expected one of my favorite documentaries of all time to be about a water park, but here we are. Rewatching Class Action Park is my new summer tradition.
This documentary delves into the good, the bad, and the ugly of New Jersey-based Action Park. Although thrilling, the park’s attractions were shoddily made and extremely dangerous, leading to countless injuries and half a dozen deaths.
Through interviews with former employees, visitors, and family members of victims, Class Action Park perfectly captures Gen X and what it was like to be a latchkey kid on summer break.
I keep coming back to this quote:
“A lot of kids who grew up in the '80s, they like to talk shit and tell stories, and when they got a couple drinks in them, it's about how fucked up and funny it was. But when they're with their shrink, it's just about how fucked up it was.”
Eating 🍔

Chuck Wagon in Sanger, CA
Thinking back to my own childhood, one of the first images that comes to mind is a burger joint in my hometown called Chuck Wagon. I reference the dive in Love and Paklava, so naturally, the first agenda item on my book tour is indulging in its chili fries.
When you grow up in a small town where Olive Garden is considered fancy, sometimes what you miss the most are the holes in the wall that have the good ice.
What should I be reading, watching, and eating next? Share your recommendations in the comments!
Happy book birthday!!!
Huzzah!!
