There’s no time to be tired after two back-to-back conventions because I’ve got a book to announce! I am overjoyed to introduce you to my sophomore novel, Love on the Rocks, coming October 22.
As you might guess, this is a rock-climbing romance based in the heart of Yosemite. Sports romances are all the rage, but hockey and baseball can’t hog the fun! I’m excited to put the spotlight on big wall climbing in my home state.

Overcome with anxiety at a corporate retreat in Yosemite, Tania flees, only to get caught in a sudden snowstorm. She’s rescued by Nolan Wells, a free spirit who happens to be the best rock climber in the world. After spending the night in his van, she finds herself drawn to his serene self-assurance—even more than his chiseled body.
Inspired by Nolan’s outlook on life, Tania decides hers needs a major reset. Motivated to finally take her company’s six-week sabbatical so she can figure out her future—and whether she and Nolan have one together—Tania falls headfirst into the great outdoors.
At first, it’s a welcome reprieve to climb granite instead of the corporate ladder. But after discovering Nolan’s death-defying secret, Tania must confront her fears head-on and determine whether the reward of loving Nolan is worth the risk of losing him.
Adrenaline junkies and indoor cats alike will want to strap in to this opposites-attract rom-com that proves love is the most exciting adventure of all.

My brother Nick Jarrett outdid himself again with this design. I am OBSESSED with the adorable Half Dome in the background, the rope threaded through the title, and all the other details that bring this story to life.
Not only did the cover for Love on the Rocks come together in record time but also this story is the fastest one I’ve written yet. After binging a bunch of climbing documentaries and interviews, the words burst out of me. I love all my books, of course, but I am especially proud of this one.
Love on the Rocks is my ode to the outdoors as a profoundly un-outdoorsy person. Like Tania, I struggle with anxiety, and the idea of getting stuck in the wilderness gives me hives. But falling in love with your polar opposite can be a whole lot of fun, and I hope you enjoy this romp among the rocks.
