Hey, everyone! For my American friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of delicious food and delightful fun.
I’m checking in real quick to make your holiday even brighter. From now until Dec. 2nd, I’m participating in the Black Friday #RomanceBookBlast, hosted by Cora Kent at romancebooklovers.com.
For this limited time, you can buy 800+ romance ebooks—including Love on the Rocks by yours truly—for only $0.99. This event features indie authors, so it’s a fantastic way to diversify your reading and support hardworking, scrappy small businesses.
There are categories for everything, from steamy and small-town, to fantasy, sci-fi, and paranormal romance. Love on the Rocks is in the sports romance category, and I’m proud to say it’s the ONLY adventure sport on the list.
But wait—there’s more! Authors could only include one book in this Black Friday promotion, but I decided to make this deal even sweeter by discounting Love Apptually to the same price.
That means you can start reading my Glam Fam rom-com series for 80% off! What are you waiting for???
A Brief Note on Amazon
I know that this time of year, many of you are doing your best to shop small and spend your dollars anywhere other than Amazon. And if you like reading physical novels, I encourage you to support your local independent bookstore or shop on sites like Bookshop.org (where my books are also listed!).
That said, for most self-published authors, Amazon is our primary source of income. It pays the highest royalties, up to 70%, retaining that rate even during countdown deals like this one.
I would argue that, in many ways, participating in this Black Friday event *is* shopping small. You’re lifting up independent authors with limited budgets and resources. Unlike traditionally published authors, we fund all our expenses ourselves—cover design, editing, formatting, marketing, advertising, you name it. We are small businesses, full stop.
For complete creative freedom, that’s a price worth paying. But it means that book sales like these are crucial in keeping our businesses afloat. Consider this promotion a win-win: you get a massive deal while supporting the authors who need it the most.
And if that’s not getting into the holiday spirit, then I don’t know what is 😉

Reading 📖

The Under the Mistletoe Collection
Like every romance reader with a pulse this month, I inhaled the Under the Mistletoe collection, a Kindle Unlimited series of five short stories featuring some of today’s bestselling authors.
Every book was packed with holiday cheer, but Alexandria Bellefleur’s Merriment and Mayhem stood out as my favorite. It stars a hot-mess heroine who keeps getting into trouble and needs saving from a sexy firefighter.
The hijinks were hilarious, and the chemistry was scorching. Bellefleur has been on my radar for a while, and this story has definitely motivated me to prioritize the rest of her work.
If you’re looking for short books to meet your annual reading goal or just to entertain yourself for a few hours, you can’t go wrong with these!
Watching 📺

Hot Frosty on Netflix
After getting utterly fed up with Hollywood for marketing films as romances when they most certainly are not (I’m looking at you, Your Monster), my viewing experience of Hot Frosty was a breath of fresh air.
I love a movie that knows exactly what it’s supposed to be, and Hot Frosty exceeded my expectations. Its premise of a lovable snowman coming to life contains some of my favorite tropes: fish out of water, a hot himbo hero, and the perfect amount of holiday magic.
While the film doesn’t take it too seriously, the character arcs are well-developed. Without giving too much away, its theme of making the most of life, however short, is one that pulled on my heartstrings.
My only complaint with any holiday rom-com is that they’re never sexy enough, but I’m hopeful that we’ll get a boom of R-rated romps one day. Until then, small-town male strippers will have to do. Up next in my Netflix queue is The Merry Gentlemen, thanks to

OREO Chocolate Pudding Pie
Need a super-easy dessert recipe for all your upcoming holiday parties? I got you. Even though I’ll never forgive OREO for discontinuing its beloved pie crust, thankfully, it’s not difficult to make your own.
Ingredients
1 package of OREO cookies (you’ll need about 27-30 cookies)
5 tablespoons melted butter
1 package of instant chocolate pudding mix (I use JELL-O)
2 cups milk (or however much your mix recommends)
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Crush 24 OREO cookies using a blender or food processor. Add in the melted butter until well incorporated. Place the mixture into a pie tin and press firmly to form the crust.
Bake the crust for 10 minutes and let cool completely.
Make the chocolate pudding by whisking milk into your instant pudding mix for a couple of minutes, until it’s thickened and set. Pour the pudding into the pie tin and spread evenly.
Make the whipped cream by whipping heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together using a hand mixer or stand mixer. Spread the whipped cream over the pudding pie.
Crumble the remaining 3-6 OREO cookies over the top. Refrigerate until it’s ready to serve!
This recipe serves 8 people. And because OREO and instant JELL-O pudding mix are already vegan, it’s easy to swap out the dairy ingredients for non-dairy if desired. The key is to halve the amount of milk so the pudding sets properly.
Enjoy!
What should I be reading, watching, and baking next?
